Yes. All training courses are ABT-accredited and nationally recognised, meaning you’ll be able to gain insurance immediately after qualification. Our salon and academy are fully insured for all treatments and training.

With proper aftercare, lash extensions typically last four to six weeks. To maintain fullness, book infills every two to three weeks through our Eyelash Extensions page.

An infill replaces extensions that have naturally shed over time, keeping your lashes looking even and full. We recommend booking infills every two to three weeks via our Acuity Booking Calendar.

Yes, after 24 hours. Cleaning your lashes daily with a lash-safe cleanser removes oil and debris, helping them last longer. Avoid oil-based products and rubbing your eyes.

We use premium synthetic mink fibres that are lightweight, soft, and cruelty-free. These materials give a natural, comfortable finish and are suitable for sensitive eyes.

Yes. A patch test is required for all new lash and brow clients at least 24 to 48 hours before your treatment. This ensures there’s no allergic reaction to adhesive or tinting products.

It depends on your lifestyle. Lash Lifts are low-maintenance and enhance your natural lashes, while extensions create a fuller, longer look. Some clients alternate between the two depending on preference.

Yes, these treatments can be safely performed together for a complete eye makeover. Both include patch testing, and your stylist will ensure safe product timing and application.

For the first 24 hours, avoid steam, saunas, swimming, or touching the area. Keep lashes and brows dry and free from oils or makeup. Use a lash brush daily and follow your stylist’s aftercare advice.

Gently cleanse lashes daily with a lash-safe foam cleanser, avoid oil-based products, and brush them through to prevent tangling. Following proper aftercare keeps extensions clean and helps retention.

Yes. We use premium-grade adhesives and formulas designed for sensitive eyes. If you’ve had previous reactions, please mention this when booking so we can use the most suitable products.

We offer several ABT-accredited lash training courses, including the Classic Eyelash Extensions Course, Lash Lift & Tint Course, Brow Lamination Course, and the Straight to Volume (2-Day) Course. All training is one-to-one and held at our Derby academy.

Yes. All Megan Thomas Lash Academy courses are fully accredited by ABT Insurance, meaning your qualification is recognised across the UK and you can gain insurance immediately after completing your course.

Yes. You’ll receive an ABT-accredited certificate on successful completion of your training and case study requirements. This allows you to start working professionally and gain insurance right away.

Course lengths vary depending on the training:

No. Our beginner courses are open to anyone aged 16 or over with an interest in starting a lash career. The Classic Course is the best place to begin before progressing to Volume techniques.

You don’t need insurance while training with us, but you’ll be able to get insurance cover as soon as you’ve completed your course using your ABT certificate.

Yes. The Classic Lash Course includes a full professional starter kit containing all the tools and products you need to begin practising straight away.

We understand life happens! If you need to reschedule or require more time to complete your case studies, just contact Megan directly. We’ll rearrange your date or provide extra support where needed.

Absolutely. You’ll have lifetime support from Megan, including feedback on case studies, business guidance, and ongoing student offers. You can message via WhatsApp anytime after your course for advice.

The MTL Lash Shop offers professional lash and brow supplies used daily in our academy, including lash trays, adhesives, tweezers, accessories, and aftercare products. All are academy-tested and suitable for professional use.

Yes. Our Platinum Lash Glue range includes options for every skill level. Platinum Plus and Ultimate glues are ideal for experienced artists, while Platinum Clear is perfect for sensitive eyes or new lash techs.

Lash adhesives perform best for around six to eight weeks after opening. To maintain consistency, store your glue in a cool, dry place and always shake well before use. Replace bottles regularly for the best retention.

Keep your glue upright, away from heat and sunlight, ideally in an airtight container with silica gel packs. Storing it correctly helps maintain the adhesive’s quality and prevents premature curing.

Choose curls based on your client’s natural eye shape and style goals. C and D curls give lift and drama, while J or B curls look more natural. Our lash trays are labelled clearly to help you select the right options for each client.

Yes. A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all treatment and training appointments. The remaining balance can be paid on the day of your treatment or prior to your course date.

Yes. You can reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment by following the link in your booking confirmation email. Deposits are non-refundable, but we’re happy to move your booking if enough notice is given.

If you’re running late, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll always try to accommodate you, but late arrivals may result in a shortened service or the need to reschedule if it impacts the next client’s booking.
